Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I believe in empowering clients in learning how to tap into their internal strengths, develop personal skills and more suitable ways of coping. Increasing clarity leading to easier choices and decisions when facing personal struggles and overcoming personal challenges.

I have worked in the mental health field since 1997 and for the past eleven years have worked in different capacities as a Bilingual (Spanish & English) Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in children and adolescents. I also enjoy assisting families who are being challenged in their relationships with each other, with behavioral problems in school or at home, and in addressing underlying issues that may be the cause of feelings of sadness, depression or that emotionally trigger anxiety or anxious behaviors.

My greatest joy is watching my clients take charge, with active participation in therapy, of their own life, path and journey. My training and experience have made an impact on me as a clinician and in my approach to treatment.

I will evaluate your individual needs and appropriate treatment by providing you with stress management techniques, effective communication skills, parenting education, behavioral modification strategies, relationship development and enhancement to improve your quality of life.

During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
