Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have over 25 years experience helping people find happier and more satisfying lives. I started out in the 1980’s specializing in the treatment of individuals and families who had a suicide, homicide or accidental death of a loved one. I’ve worked side-by-side coroner investigators, law enforcement, EMS and firefighters in the big and little disasters that impact our lives. I know that no amount of money or job title can immune any of us from the aftermath of life’s tragedies that leave us with profound experiences of, for example, aloneness, anger, confusion, disappointment, fear, grief, guilt, sadness, shame, and terror. Yet, I have known so many people who found their way through tragedy to a reliable level of satisfaction and well-being. Because of my experience I am a combination of psychotherapist, teacher and life coach. I have lots of training behind me and have provided numerous trainings for others over the years. I have been a consultant/trainer in critical Incident management and trauma mitigation for emergency, business and the community. Plus, I am well acquainted with the neurobiology distress/truama. Most of my clients like my dynamic past as I can discuss issues with years of earned wisdom and integrate modalities of treatment, making psychotherapy not only rewarding but interesting.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
