Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Dealing with life's issues can be stressful and people respond to stress in a myriad of ways. Having the proper support during difficult times can help people make choices that will lead them toward a positive outcome. One's issues might involve transitions (e.g., moving to a new area, getting married or divorced, starting a family, children beginning school or going off to college, starting or leaving a job, etc.). I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and I am interested in working with individuals and couples experiencing transitions including those exacerbated by trauma, substance abuse, work-related issues.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
