Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My practice specialty focuses on working with families. A variety of issues may bring a child, parent or family into counseling including socio-emotional issues, behavior challenges in school or at home (e.g. attention and impulse control issues and other stressors/trauma (i.e. divorce, separation, death, domestic violence, etc.).

In addition to working with a child, I work with adults. Parenting is a difficult job. I offer support to caregivers by teaching parenting and co-parenting skills. I believe in working to build strong, loving families by addressing issues in a constructive, supportive way.

A special area of interest in my practice is building resiliency in children, parents and families work to help parents/caregivers understand a child’s behavior, emotions and development. My several years of experience, working as a school counselor, enable me to collaborate with parents/caregivers to help a child be more successful both at home and in school.

Donna Yorke, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Temecula, CA

I’ve been in private practice in Temecula since 1990. I work with individuals, couples and families on a variety of issues, using a straight-forward approach to problem solving. While I listen with empathy, I am an “active” therapist, meaning I make suggestions, give direction and homework to partner with my clients so they can solve their problems in a timely, effective manner.
