Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I enjoy working with individuals from adolescence into late adulthood. I am a down-to-earth, practical, warm, dedicated therapist, whom people tend to open up to easily. I am attentive to nurturing my relationships with my clients, as research indicates that this is the most important factor in determining successful therapy outcomes. Together we will explore your best qualities to increase your confidence, positive health, and effectily address your personal challenges. Therapy is a great way to address anxiety, depression, relationship issues, addictive behaviors, breakups, mid-life crisis, low self esteem/confidence, work stress, life transitions, and more. I provide a supportive yet challenging environment, working toward efficient easing of symptoms, while guiding clients to develop insight into personal dynamics/patterns for meaningful, long-lasting change. My primary modalities include: Humanistic (supportive/empathic), Cognitive Behavioral ("CBT") (changing faulty thinking & behaviors), and Psychodynamic (examining childhood and client/therapist relationship). I see clients in 3 locations: the UCSF Parnassus campus, Downtown San Francisco, and in central San Rafael (Lincoln/Mission). Thank you for visiting my profile!

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
