Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I practice psychotherapy with my clients by beginning with an acknowledgement and exploration of their strengths and resources, then helping them to put them better to use and develop them further. In working with many clients, we explore not just how to solve problems but whether the challenges have any value ~ perhaps as rites of passage, or lessons, or opportunities for change. I use a "holistic" approach, inviting clients to consider all aspects of their lives, including diet, lifestyle, and spiritual values, as well as thoughts and feelings, as they seek to improve their health and satisfaction.

About My Practice

Office Hours
By appointment only: Mon - Thur, 11am-8pm; Fri, 9am - 6pm.
Services
I practice alternative approaches to psychotherapy, such as meditation and the creative arts, as well as more traditional methods such as family systems and cognitive behavioral therapy. I have extensive training in Narrative Therapy and the Hakomi Method (body-oriented psychotherapy) as well as Anger Management and Domestic Violence Treatment. I have worked with clients as young as 3 years old (for anger management) and as old as 75 (for domestic violence), as well as with families, couples, teens, and individuals.

Phillip Copitch, PhD

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Redding, CA 96001

Approximately half of Dr. Copitch's practice involves children and families. The other half is devoted to individual therapy. And, as Dr. Copitch often jokes, "the third half of my work is devoted to school consultations, business consultations, and corporate trainings."
