Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Dr. Kelley is a locally recognized cognitive- behavioral practitioner who specializes in working with adolescents and their families. He works with issues ranging from inappropriate sexual behavior, substance abuse, and mood disorders to anger and family relationship issues. A Center for Hope is a place that doesn't label children. We truly believe that there is no such thing as a bad child, only a child with bad behavior. Dr. Kelley also treats adults, couples and families. As the Founder and Director of A Center for Hope Dr. Kelley has helped hundreds of adolescents, and their families, deal with their trauma, pain, grief and development by employing his own brand of cognitive behavioral techniques mixed with his rare sense of humor. Dr. Kelley believes humor to be a vital ingredient in the treatment of adolescents. "When we feel stressed and anxious, hassled and harried, it appears that humor is sometimes one of our first assets to disappear."

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
