Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Using my background in Jungian psychotherapy, I help people move through the major changes and events of their lives and break free of lifelong patterns of self-destructive behavior. I believe that attending to the functions of the psyche and soul are among the most important work we can do. When experiencing loss and other major life changes, we deserve to pause long enough to experience and respect these important emotional events. My role would be to guide you through these events and help you discover your own strengths and capacity for life in the process.

I use many modalities in my work, including psychodynamic, cognitive and evocative (art and sand tray) therapy methods. I have also worked extensively with adults and adolescents with moderate to severe mental illness and welcome these individuals in my practice. Members of the LGBT community and those exploring “alternative” identities are also very welcome here.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
