Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
For the past 12 years, I have been working in several non-profit settings with adults and children suffering from a myriad of illnesses from Schizophrenia to Borderline Personality Disorder to Oppositional Defiant Disorder, among others. During this time, I found that my greatest skills lie in working with Anxiety and Depressive Disorders. I finally feel that I am ready to offer my services in a private practice setting. As I get my practice off the ground, I will be focusing on working with adults and hope to expand to working with children and adolescents again in the future. I have had training with leading groups in Dialectical Behavior Training, Aggression Replacement Training, and Clinical Pathways. I have found that different clinical orientations work with different people suffering from the same or different symptoms, therefore I tailor my sessions to the individual needs of the Client.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
