Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Michelle Jauwena is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has experience working with mental illness, relationship issues, life transitions, grief, cultural issues, and more. Michelle graduated from Loma Linda University with a Master's degree in Marital and Family Therapy. Having immigrated during her adolescent years, Michelle developed a fascination working with diverse cultures defined not only by one's race and ethnicity, but also by family dynamic. Her inquisitive nature has allowed her to develop the ability to work with individuals from a systemic perspective. By working with a therapist using the systemic perspective, one may gain a better understanding of how stress, insecurity, anger, anxiety, or even depression affects our relationships with others. Developing this awareness enables us to access more options for mitigating distress in the context of relationships with others and self. With deep insight, Michelle has helped many people navigate challenging times, and reach favorable outcomes.
