Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a social work background. My focus is helping adults, caregivers and their families learn to adapt with changes in health, their environment, their roles and consequently their relationships with others and themselves. Aging and deteriorating health is not just an individual's struggle it is part of a family's journey. People are constantly responding to changes in the world and their personal lives. I help people who are facing sudden and gradual changes in their lives and do not know how to cope or believe they could cope better.. I want to help those people who are coping with changes in their lives or that of a a loved one. If someone died come to me. I am the " caregiver's counselor". Death, deteriorating health and loss of independence can cause anxiety, depression, and isolation. These effects impact how effectively you will cope with other aspects of life. But there is hope I can help diminish the impact of suffering as a result of constant change. Stop the suffering, start living! For busy people a lack of self-care can have a deleterious effect. You deserve time for yourself. As an ombudsman, adult family caregiver and someone who is a survivor of chronic illness, I can teach you the tools to thrive despite life's challenges.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
