Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I believe psychotherapy is an important tool in helping people discover their natural ability to heal, to love, and to grow. I emphasize the development of a safe environment in my office to facilitate the opening and awareness necessary to discover new ways of relating to oneself and to others. Sometimes this involves revisiting past hurt and trauma in order to more effectively manage or express oneself in the present. I believe in both brief and long term approaches depending on my client’s needs and goals. I work with adolescents age 13 and up as well as adults. I also enjoy working with couples. I am a strong believer in a collaborative approach with my clients: I help people develop their natural ability to create new and healthier perspectives on themselves and their lives, relieving such symptoms as depression and anxiety. I am a firm believer in holistic approaches to mental health, through diet, exercise, meditation, social support, and balance. I enjoy my work as a psychotherapist.

During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone.
