Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Are you struggling through difficult relationships with a romantic partner, family member, close friend, or person at work?

Do you feel caught in a common dilemma: if you accommodate, you lose yourself…if you resist or disagree, you might lose them or suffer consequences?

Do the discords that arise from personal interactions knock you off-base and generate self-doubt and anxiety?

A satisfying life is difficult to achieve amidst conflicted relationships. Yet, emotional withdrawal and self-isolation are not healthy solutions and can create other problems. A badly needed relational skill is to remain connected with others WHILE staying your own person.

I can help you address these relational challenges from a soul-based perspective. This approach recognizes and appreciates your deeper self that naturally seeks the wellbeing of all, including your own. Rather than being problem-based and focusing on what you don’t want and try to avoid in your relationships, this soul-based approach helps you get in touch with your true center. This self-grounding enables you to effortlessly radiate what is best in you, and spontaneously draw out what is best in others.

I offer tools through which you can learn how to be attuned to and aligned with this deeper authentic self, and to discover and develop resources within you that can bring about the desired harmony in your life. My work synthesizes influences from various sources: mindfulness practice (body-based emotional awareness), stress-reduction strategies, guided visualization, developing intentionality, identifying and challenging self-defeating beliefs, role-play, and EMDR to help address unresolved trauma. My style is interactive and collaborative—engaging with you in a partnership-for-transformation. I also believe that laughter is a most potent healer and encourage clients to have fun, both inside and outside of the therapy room.
