Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My training and background have been in understanding the role that the body plays in forming and maintaining an individual's personality or character structure. Combining the concepts of Wilhelm Reich with a background in Yoga and Dance have given me the resources to help clients understand how they deal with stress and anxiety. The goal is to release the blocks that have inhibited the expression of anger, grief, and disappointment. Reich proposed that it is through the discovery and working through of these blocks that an individual becomes better able to experience loving relationships. For clients who are interested in the modality specific breathing excercises are given in addition to traditional counseling.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
