Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Are you considering therapy for the first time? Do you feel ready to make important life changes? Have you been disappointed with previous therapy experiences?

I offer individual, couple and group therapy for those who want to explore the deeper connections between mind, body and emotions. I am sensitive to people’s pain, as well as their strengths. I believe those who are unhappy with how they are experiencing their lives can use that energy as motivation to change.

In addition to a masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, I have spent over Seven years studying the mind-body connection and hold a certificate in Integrative Body Psychotherapy (IBP). For more information on IBP, see

As a practitioner of mind-body therapy, I believe that insight alone does not always help people to feel better. However, insight combined with the experience of specific breathing techniques and simple movements can give clients the tools for profound emotional change.

My professional orientation also incorporates in-depth psychotherapy, including Jungian, Existential and Family Systems perspectives.

I have completed programs in Human Sexuality at UCLA with Joshua Golden, MD and Couples Therapy with Walter Bracklemans, MD.

I have been in practice over 20 years and have treated clients from diverse backgrounds with a broad range of issues.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
