Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Nancy has been a licensed therapist since 1984. She has advanced training in the treatment of Late-Life Depression and Anxiety using CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), which focuses on changing thoughts and behaviors in order to improve mood. Nancy has extensive experience working with Older Adults (age 60+) who are feeling down, depressed, anxious, grieving, or "stuck." She also has experience working with family caregivers of Older Adults; caregivers are prone to feeling stressed, depressed, or anxious due to the demands of caregiving, and can benefit from learning new coping strategies for wellness using CBT techniques. Nancy has also had advanced training in the treatment of trauma, including clients with the diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She uses both CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and/or Prolonged Exposure Therapy, as appropriate, to assist clients in processing the trauma and developing new strategies for moving forward.
