The issues that I treat include attachment, behavioral disturbances, ADHD, Autism spectrum and socialization concerns, depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, impulse control disorders, and family cultural conflicts. These experiences have built on my training in evidenced based practices including, Functional Family Therapy (FFT), Integrative Complex Trauma Treatment, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). My specialty is Vietnamese American children and their families, having practiced, translated new treatment and conducted research on innovative approaches. I am fluent in English and Vietnamese, and can aid with addressing acculturation concerns within the family dynamic. I have extensive training in play based approaches and can aid children and families address mental health concerns in a fun and creative way. I specialize in working with couples and families, using a systemic and holistic approach to aid with improving/enhancing relationships by tailoring different treatment modalities to fit needs. I also have my PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision, and I teach counselors in training, attend/present at professional conferences, and also conduct research. These factors aid me in ensuring that the treatment practices and service delivery that is being provided is the latest and innovative in the field.
