Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have been practicing psychotherapy for twenty years and am currently in private practice in a confidential setting in Glendora.

Many people struggle with times of transition such as marriage, divorce, moving in together, or starting or ending a relationship. In addition, they may struggle with other important changes such as birth, adolescence, aging, illness, or death. These or other issues of loss or change may impact people’s ability to function and make decisions.

As you can see, people seek counseling for problems in everyday living and relationships, or to work through painful issues from the past. Most have a desire to live more fully in the present and wish for a more satisfying future.

The therapy setting is a place where you may explore patterns, options, and meanings in life. You may experience relief from anxiety or depression, and may discover your own solutions and answers in a time frame that works best for you. As a result, you may gain a sense of mastery and control over your own thoughts, feelings, and actions.

I will work collaboratively with you, helping you decide the goals you wish to reach in therapy, and assisting you to attain a deeper understanding, experiencing, and appreciation of yourself.

I welcome people of all backgrounds and experience. Ultimately, my hope is to make the counseling office a safe and peaceful environment where clients may express themselves and be heard without fear, embarrassment, or judgment.

EAP or other referrals gladly accepted.
