Challenges often include cumulative loss and grief, changing roles within society and families, shifting identities, the need to find a new sense of purpose, illness and/or pain, depression, anxiety, PTSD, caregiver stress, and the impacts of internalized and external ageism. With commitment and courage and some guidance, midlife and older individuals can take these challenges and transform them, using a variety of effective healing tools, into an amazing and heartening growth of profound richness and creativity.
