Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
If you are feeling frustrated and overwhelmed by all your responsibilities, then most likely you have been ignoring your own needs and focusing on the needs of others. After a while, you become resentful and maybe even angry that your needs are not getting met, and start noticing a downward spiral of physical, mental, and relationship problems. You probably know that the more you try to ignore these challenges by escaping through the use of food, alcohol, and drugs, or keep struggling to make the difficulties go away, the worse they get. What is interesting is that for the most part, we are not even aware that it is our own mind that is making it harder for us to enjoy the things we have worked so hard to achieve and miss out on the opportunities right in front of us. By using a supportive and informative approach, I can teach you how to become a more vibrant you. I will help you recognize your true needs, and guide you in taking the action necessary to start living your life more fully. I have specialized training in the areas of: Addictions, Eating Disorders, Gambling, and Couples Counseling. While utilizing evidenced-based practices of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, I have a strength-based approach and will provide you with individualized care that is respectful and empowering. Please feel free to email me at to set up a meeting. I believe that while we cannot change the events of our past, we can certainly choose to live a more meaningful present. I look forward to working with you.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
