Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Taking the step to begin your own process in therapy is an empowered, important life decision. Finding the right fit in a therapist who can really understand you and help you to open to yourself is crucial to healing. It is very important to know therapy does require work. Sometimes the work will be easy, and other times more difficult. Many of my patients have reported therapy is the best investment they've ever made. A financial, energetic and psychic investment in healing and repairing the relationship with yourself can offer benefits that reverberate throughout every aspect of your life. I create authentic, compassionate connections with my patients. I work relationally, meaning the relationship we create and develop is where the deepest healing happens. Building trust and creating safety are essential to the healing process. I offer long-term depth psychotherapy and see patients once or twice a week. I alternate between following and guiding patients, based on what they need. I operate from a strength-based belief, that each person has an innate resilient wisdom that, in the right environment, can be felt and called upon. I encourage feedback in therapy as it is crucial for collaborative treatment.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
