Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Welcome, my name is Nathan Read, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, practicing in Redding, CA. I attended Simpson University, where I obtained a B.A. in Psychology, and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. I have lived in the Redding area most of my life, where my wife of 14 years and I are raising our three children. My counseling services are provided to a diverse population of clients, including individuals, couples, and adolescents. I currently specialize in working with couples in conflict or distress, adolescent parenting interventions, and individuals affected by depression, anxiety, and traumatic experiences. Whether you seek individual counseling to address specific individual needs or couples counseling to address the unique trials and pains of relationships, counseling is designed to provide a safe, confidential place that supports growth and change. Here are some reasons many people seek out counseling... difficult life transitions, loss of motivation or drive, relationship issues, inability to express your feelings, depression, anxiety, abuse, trauma, divorce or separation, grief or loss. Counseling will provide a safe place to address your unique goals, needs, and challenges.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Temecula, CA

I’ve been in private practice in Temecula since 1990. I work with individuals, couples and families on a variety of issues, using a straight-forward approach to problem solving. While I listen with empathy, I am an “active” therapist, meaning I make suggestions, give direction and homework to partner with my clients so they can solve their problems in a timely, effective manner.
