Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I received my M.A. degree in Expressive Art Therapy and have spent the last 6 years providing individual and family psychotherapy to children, youth and adults within the community mental health care system. I have worked directly with the following issues and struggles :
- Abuse, neglect and trauma histories
- Mood Disorders, including major depression and anxiety

In my work I place the primary importance of the quality of the relationship itself and tend to be most drawn toward long term depth oriented work though have also become skilled at working from more directive short term approaches. I also find it important to examine deeply the societal context of individual suffering and frequently integrate the expressive arts and mindfulness skills into my sessions.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions at all.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
