Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
One of my passions is helping clients find and express what is authentic to them. Part of finding a more solid sense of self is helping people see where they have more options then they believe they have. We have all been in situations where we have been so caught up in what is happening in our environment that we forget to take the needed look inside. As I guide my clients to focus on themselves, they feel more empowered. We examine together the judgements and limits they have placed on themselves and how these impact their relationships with others and themselves. Using an object relations framework and using a variety of interventions, I give my clients the necessary support and space to come into and feel themselves more fully. I work with individual adults, children, and families struggling with: mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, attachment and relationship issues, and addictions.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
