Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My approach to therapy is a collaborative one. I believe that in working together in an authentic and curious way, therapist and client can realize effective ways to meet life's challenges. While I welcome individuals of all ages into my practice, I have a special interest in adolescent development and connect with teens and young adults easily. Through a direct, nurturing and supportive style, I provide a safe space for teens and young people to share their challenges. Another focus of my practice is helping individuals struggling with issues related to eating. These include: eating disorders, disordered eating or body image issues. I believe that recovery is possible! I also offer Mindfulnes-Based Stress Reduction group to teens as well as adults.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
