Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
In my private practice, I am committed to providing effective and ethical treatment for a wide range of emotional and mental issues. In working with adults, I see myself as a supportive guide on my client's journey of self-exploration and discovery. Many of my clients extend their treatment in order to improve their self-esteem and develop healthier relationships.

My practice is particularly known for my work with children, aged 3-10. In working with both children and teens, I actively involve the parents in the treatment. I specialize in helping parents raise well-adjusted children.

Another area of specialization is the use of sandplay in psychotherapy. I have had extensive training and experience in this area and offer workshops and professional consultation for therapists. I am an instructor at Santa Clara University's Center for Professional Development and teach sandplay workshops at numerous mental health agencies in the Bay Area.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
