Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Hello, my name is Patience Taba. Providing therapy and being dedicated to assisting individuals on their journey to mental health wellness has been my life’s passion. I offer therapy in a kind, respectful environment that allows the client to discover their feelings, their passions and the direction of their life. Through therapy, I hope to assist each client on their journey toward creating the life of their heart’s desire. I want to support each client in identifying and accessing their life given skills, gifts, talents and coping skills they already have within them. Through listening, offering different ways of seeing an issue, educating, informing and challenging clients, I believe that clients have the opportunity to move forward past obstacles, towards their goals. Together we will identify goals for your treatment, identify challenges to achieving those goals, and work together in using a variety of interventions that will give you the tools to meet those goals. Since 1992, I have been working in both private and public mental health sectors as both a licensed clinical social worker and a clinical supervisor to mental health professionals. I have worked in mental health, sexual abuse treatment, child welfare, adoptions (both public and private) and family therapy. My experience includes individual, couple and group work with children, adults, couples, families and blended families with issues related to individual growth, relationships, life transitions, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, childhood abuse, codependency, anger, infertility, adoption issues and parenting. Call or email to set up a free 20 minute consultation by phone to find out more about the counseling process. Sliding scale is available for those in need as space permits. Reduced fee for pre-licensed therapists (MFT Interns and ASWs) is available.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
