Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
As a former teach for typical and special education students, pre-school through high school, I have extensive training and experience working with children, adolescents, and parenting issues. My education through Pepperdine University, as well as continuing training in varied areas, including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, family and work issues enables me to be effective in individual’s and families’ progress. My office has a positive atmosphere, for authentic and creative expression of thoughts and feelings. If an individual has a spiritual basis, I encourage them to enhance that part of their life, including 12 Step programs, if that is part of their process. Using Imago Therapy can be extremely beneficial for increasing intimacy; therefore I offer this to clients, as well as my basic cognitive-behavioral approach.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
