Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I teach people how to take control of strong emotions and behaviors that they want to change. Sometimes, when angry, hurt, afraid, or nervous we react with words or behaviors that can make a bad situation worse or cause us regret. Other times, we just freeze, avoid the situation and hope it will go away. In fact, it seems like, the more critical the situation, the less effective we can be sometimes! DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) methods have been research tested and proven effective in teaching people skills to control their emotions rather than their emotions controlling them. Find peace in the face of adversity. Find laughter again. Give me a call to see if these skills and services can help you improve your important relationships at home and at work. DBT Skills groups are available throughout week. Call to set up an interview.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
