Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #80907 specializing in providing psychotherapy, counseling, and mental health services for adolescents, teens, individuals, couples, and families at my Long Beach private practice office. I have over 12 years of experience working in the social service and mental health fields with a wide variety of issues, populations, and cultures. I have presented clinical and academic work both locally and internationally, have taught psychology and philosophy at various colleges, and am currently teaching psychology at Long Beach City College. Taking the first step to get help is often the hardest part and I understand that. I will work in collaboration with you to create a therapeutic relationship and provide a safe environment for you to share your story and begin to answer difficult questions in a confidential exchange. Sometimes circumstances befall us in our journey through life that can leave us feeling lost and confused with various questions. Is something holding you back in life? Is something getting you down that you feel you can’t share with anyone? Do you question why you made certain choices in life? Are you struggling in your relationships? Are you at a crossroads in life? Do you crave a better knowledge of Self? In begining this search and inquiry for yourself, today you are one step closer to expressing yourself and answering questions so that you can feel a stronger sense of Self-empowerment on a positive path to growth and well-being. As a depth psychotherapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating and affirming everyday. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand how they effect you in the present in order to resolve challenges in your life. By applying a variety of therapy approaches and techniques that suit you, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. I am also a trained philosopher and am open to discussing any of life's difficult questions and existential themes that may be running through your mind. If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Temecula, CA

I’ve been in private practice in Temecula since 1990. I work with individuals, couples and families on a variety of issues, using a straight-forward approach to problem solving. While I listen with empathy, I am an “active” therapist, meaning I make suggestions, give direction and homework to partner with my clients so they can solve their problems in a timely, effective manner.
