Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My goal is to help clients to move toward healthy lifestyles through intentional living. I have developed a program that incorporates nutritional education with psychotherapy and work in collaboration with a dietitian. In therapy, my approach is a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness-based approaches to improve the communication between the body and brain. The goal is to resolve the internal conflict so that the mind and body can work in unison and align toward optimal health and well-being. I provide counseling for individuals, families and small groups and tailor the program to meet each individual’s unique needs. Nutritional consultations are available with the dietitian. The healthy lifestyles program was originally created to help achieve healthy weight, however it would be beneficial to those in recovery from addiction, other health challenges, depression, and anyone who desires to live a more intentional and balanced life. At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
