Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a firm believer that good therapy involves the right match between the client and therapist. Therefore I do answer all questions on the phone prior to an office visit. I also provide a free 30 minute in person question and answer session that does not involve any type of counseling. This means that if we decide to work together you will be involved in a very action oriented and direct therapy. I use what is called an eclectic therapy or multi-theory approach. A sliding scale fee can be offered based on income verification and demonstration of need. Since 1983 I have worked with children, teenagers, and adults in many educational and non-educational settings on both the East and West coast. I specialize in problems of Chemical Dependency and Recovery, Learning Disabilities, Crisis, Depression, Domestic Violence, Employment, Life Transitions, Women's Issues, Family Counseling and Pre-Marital Counseling.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
