Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Do you work hard to remain competent and accomplished on the outside, yet often feel overwhelmed on the inside? If so, my approach may be particularly helpful to you. I specialize in helping people discover a secure and relaxed sense of Self. If you struggle with relationships, anxiety or self-sabotage, or feel a sense of urgency around a current crisis - such as a break-up, a death, a job loss, an illness or an accident - I will help you understand what is happening, resolve disturbing feelings, and learn to apply new skills and solutions. My work combines Expressive Arts, mindfulness, and EMDR - a mind-body technique used to process disturbing memories that contribute to unexplained fears and self-defeating beliefs and behaviors. Because the darkest situations often illuminate our deepest needs, I also work with talk therapy, encouraging an atmosphere of acceptance, warmth, and permission. In my practice 'the best' and 'the worst' in you is welcome. If you’ve been trying to solve your own problems, yet find that they repeat themselves despite your best efforts, therapy can help. For many, relief can begin in the first few sessions. Don’t wait. Therapy works!
