Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My mission as Marriage and Family Therapist is to promote emotional healing, mental awareness, personal enrichment and interpersonal connectedness for adults and couples. My method of therapy involves partnering with clients to facilitate the process of gaining control, mastery and satisfaction over their lives. My approach to this undertaking is primarily Cognitive Therapy and Systems Theory. My pre-graduate training involved supervised treatment of dually-diagnosed and persistently mentally ill patients. My post-graduate experience focused on latency-aged children and families in crisis. My post-license work centers on resolving personal and interpersonal challenges for adult individuals, couples and organizations to produce wellbeing and growth in homes, schools, workplaces and other social environments. Problems have solutions. Psychotherapy is the process of discovering and making use of them. Rakeshia Morgan, M.S., LMFT

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
