Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I have the wonderful privilege of working with and supporting individuals, couples and families through life’s everyday stressors, painful losses, traumas and/or wounds that can be difficult to heal from alone. In addition to being a California Marriage and Family Therapist, I am also licensed as Georgia Licensed Professional Counselor since 1999. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor as well as a Registered Psychological Assistant with the California Board of Psychology. I earned a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Southern California Seminary, a Master of Science in Community Counseling from Columbus State University and a Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology from Christian Heritage College. My doctoral research focus was on the complexities of domestic violence from both the victim’s and offender’s perspective. I am a Certified Domestic Violence Counselor leading 52-week court ordered domestic violence, child batterer and anger management groups. I enjoy working with all ages from K-5 through the geriatric population and have provided therapeutic counsel for the elderly transitioning into convalescent facilities. My background also includes working with terminally ill hospice patients and their families. Regardless the issue my client’s present, I believe that it is my genuine love for people that they sense most. Life is not meant to be lived in isolation. It can be hard and unfair. My passion and privilege is to come along side the hurting and offer them authentic support as they journey through life’s peaks and valleys. If I can be of service to you, please contact the number listed above. I look forward to hearing from you.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
