Dr. Randi Fredricks, Ph.D. is a psychotherapist and best-selling author who does individual and couples therapy in her office in San Jose, California. Since 1991, Dr. Fredricks has been a journalist and published researcher and author on pioneering studies about individuals, couples, and communication. Her books have become best-sellers and have been noted in publications all over the world. Dr. Fredricks' integrative approach to psychotherapy was developed through extensive education and experience, including a Ph.D. in Psychology and a Doctorate in Naturopathy. This multi-disciplinary approach allows her to approach issues from a truly holistic perspective, helping the people she cares for to feel better faster and appreciate lasting results. Much of Dr. Fredricks’ work is based on her books. Her book Healing & Wholeness: Complementary and Alternative Therapies for Mental Health is a 630-page compendium that contains over 3,000 citations for peer-reviewed literature. Dr. Fredricks is also the author of Fasting: An Exceptional Human Experience, a book that details the history of fasting in medicine, psychology, politics, and spiritual and religious traditions. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, she has an extensive background in various areas including anxiety, depression, addiction, and codependency.
