Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I offer a trauma-focused approach to healing the psyche, which aims to relieve, reduce, and resolve the distressing symptoms of trauma and PTSD by addressing all areas of mind, body, and soul, where trauma is stored. Specifically, we target the images, thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and body memories that were involved in the original trauma event or events.

Patricia Ravitz, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
