Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My hope for counseling is to help my clients improve their experience of themselves and their relationships and increase happiness and enjoyment. For some, as Marsha Linehan says, "create a life worth living." To help client's improve their quality of life, I combine evidenced based practices with Humanistic, Family Systems, Trauma and Attachment theories in my practice Mindfulness has shown to be a enhancing skill to the therapeutic process. It can support psychological growth and help to improve mood and quality of life. I find it a great tool in individual and couples counseling. I have worked with severely emotionally disturbed children and teens in Sonoma County for 23 years. As a Marriage and Family Therapist I have worked with kids, adults, couples, and families for 13 year and have experience with co-leading court mandated Domestic Violence groups, support groups for families with children with cancer. I have worked with adolescents with complex trauma and currently co-lead Dialectical Behavior Therapy groups, and provide individual DBT therapy.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Temecula, CA

I’ve been in private practice in Temecula since 1990. I work with individuals, couples and families on a variety of issues, using a straight-forward approach to problem solving. While I listen with empathy, I am an “active” therapist, meaning I make suggestions, give direction and homework to partner with my clients so they can solve their problems in a timely, effective manner.
