Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I'm very passionate about helping you with whatever challenges you currently face. I utilize a psychodynamic approach, which can be a good fit for those open to the process. Working in this way helps to connect our past experiences and relationships with the decisions we make and how we feel in the present. Looking past the surface of issues helps provide understanding and resolution for long term change. I also incorporate several other theoretical models and interventions in order to best meet your needs. Developing an awareness of your thoughts is key to removing barriers to your life satisfaction. I work with adolescents and adults in individual, family, and couples therapy. I have experience working with all different socioeconomic, ethnic, cultural, and sexual orientation backgrounds. I specialize in working with trauma and abuse, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, and personal development. I also have extensive experience working with family conflict. I work very hard to continue advancing my expertise, having trained in evidence based practices for trauma and family therapy. My central concerns are that you are comfortable, feel understood, and we share in the goals of therapy. If this sounds like a good fit for you, please contact me.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
