Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
The presence of emotional symptoms in one's life is an invitation to investigate unconscious patterns and early programming, and to create more fulfilling patterns for the present. I use modern "energy psychotherapies", as well as reflection on early life events, to empower a shift in one's way of feeling about oneself, relating to others, and managing life's challenges. I am comfortable with short term work to deal with a specific issue, or long term depth work whose goal is personal transformation. I have experience dealing with recovery from childhood abuse, abusive family backgrounds, and trauma. I speak Spanish fluently, and have lived in Central America for an extended period of time. Because I have negotiated many transitions in my own life, I am able to accompany those dealing with their own transitions. I bring a respectful, compassionate presence to the challenging work of personal growth and psychotherapy.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
