Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
As a therapist, I feel the importance of having done and continue to do my own deep self-exploration in order to provide a greater understanding and capacity for others in their process of truth seeking. I have a deep intuitive sense and an ability to get to the heart of what holds people back. I show up with a rooted aliveness, meaning that I have a grounded, embodied and engaged approach to therapy. I'm not a therapist that sits back and analyzes; rather, I relate with you in a way that is supportive, challenging, caring, and discerning. I consider myself an artist in the realm of shadows, bringing to light the unsavory and the unseen--the blacks, the whites, and the greys--which unleashes a fuller range of colors for you to live in and to create with. What I offer can be very diverse depending on what you want or I feel is needed. I tend to use body-based practices, mindfulness, CBT techniques, and intuitive insights that open doors for you. I also do Shamanic work, with an invitation to enter a deeply spiritual space through relationship.

Services
Stepping into therapy with someone is an inherently vulnerable and risky process. You are courageously opening up to someone that you don't really know, in hopes of changing, of finding something new, of building a relationship that can create positive change. I respect those who take the leap and believe in the importance of finding the right therapist. You deserve to be understood at a deep level so that you feel comfortable to begin looking more closely at the places in your life that you would like to see change. Some common reasons people come into therapy with me: General dissatisfaction with life and relationships Feeling isolated and alone Patterns of co-dependence or care taking Drug abuse and addiction (computers included) Desire to find purpose in life and step into personal power Feeling of stuckness that tends to relate to self-judgment, anxiety and depression Anger problems Issues with own masculinity or relationships to men Therapy can often be one of the first steps you take on the path of awakening into a life that you really like living. Life is short, and I'd like to support you in living it the way that you want to. One of my deepest passions is supporting people in understanding themselves so that they can make lasting, fulfilling changes in their lives.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
