Personal Statement

Personal Statement:

I believe in the emotional strength of an individual to be able to obtain the things in life that may be regarded as personally or associatively satisfying.  I also believe that an individual has the capacity to successfully oppose the issues and problems that challenge the person's own well-being or his or her relationship with others.

However sometimes the strength of  the human spirit alone is not enough to effectively deal with the ever changing complexities of daily living.  At those times, professional counseling can be a useful resource for an individual, couple or family.  The elements of the counseling should consist of clarifying the issues that have created the disturbance, outlining a systematic way for resolving the problem, and obtaining a clear understanding of when the goal has been achieved.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
