Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I believe that the human mind and spirit are amazing and powerful things, and that there is no singular “correct” way of being. I also believe that inside each of us resides everything we need for a richly loved and fulfilled life. However, at times, things get in the way of our accessing the deep and powerful knowledge contained within us. Sometimes challenges come to us early in life, while others may come to us later. Therapy can be a process of understanding those things that have stood in our way and honoring the creative ways we can succeed despite challenges. In all ways, my clients, whether individuals, couples or families, are the experts in their lives and their experience. I work to bring expertise around opening a safe space to promote healing, develop new skills, and clarify direction.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
