Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I work with clients who are facing a wide range of personal and interpersonal problems that are creating friction and functional problems in their lives. These problems are primarily existential in nature including living with the feeling that something is just not quite right in one's life, that one is not living to ones fullest potential, and identity issues (including spiritual, sexual, and vocational identity). Invariably, these problems arise as a result of loss and disillusionment, whether it be through heartbreak, the loss of a loved one through death or divorce, and feelings of isolation or not being understood. I approach psychotherapy from the tradition of Jungian Psychology where healing occurs through a dialogue with the unconscious via evidence based techniques including dream analysis, active imagination, mindfulness, and the interchange that occurs between therapist and client in a gentle, non-judgmental, client centered therapeutic field. I work with clients facing crisis that occur in adolescence, career and family development, mid-life, and old age. Many of my clients work in the creative arts including musicians, actors, and writers. Please feel free to contact me for a free initial telephone consultation.
