Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My approach to psychotherapy includes the use of art therapy; a creative, and an easy way to access thoughts, and feelings. It is used with individuals of all ages, and requires no artistic skill. It translates the non-verbal into a verbal interpretation through creating symbols from one’s interior landscape and helps express what words often cannot. Art as therapy clears blocks associated with painful memories.

I believe that psychotherapy can be a wonderful journey of self discovery and acceptance. My goal is to provide a warm, accepting, and safe place where client can collaboratively explore their innermost feelings and discover new insight and meaning. I enjoy working with individuals who are facing transitions in their lives, or perhaps confronting feelings of depression, anxiety, loneliness, confusion and/or anger. I also have an interest in working with issues connected with aging; including coping with bereavement, chronic illness, death and dying.
