Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Welcome! Perhaps you would like to address a particular issue in therapy, or you may desire to fulfill a lifelong dream, and have a sense that your world could be bigger and more satisfying. I can help. I can help you resolve difficult relationships, solve troubling impasses and learn skills to overcome negative emotional states and self-defeating patterns. You can renew your life and find your way, one which leads to happiness, growth and wholeness. I see individuals, couples and families and I am dedicated to the long-term well-being of my clients and open to each person's particular journey to wholeness and happiness. I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and an expert in the treatment of trauma. This could be from an accident, surgery, abuse, war, the death of a loved one, etc. It could stem, too, from neglect or loss-a relationship, life changes or loss of self-agency. Trauma lives in the body, as well as the mind, and somatic therapy restores awareness, control and vitality to oneself. It is life-changing work and I am fortunate to employ this powerful tool in service of my clients. In addition, I teach mindfulness and resilience and I see clients outdoors, in semi-private settings, when it is relevant to therapy. It's easier, sometimes, to access our resilience and build upon our strengths outside, in a natural setting. I focus on one's internal strengths, as well as deficits, from the perspectives of person-centered, somatic, depth and Jungian psychotherapies. Please contact me for a free consultation!
