Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Life's transitions can be tough to navigate on your own. The pressure to succeed can weigh you down and inhibit you from stepping outside of your comfort zone. All of us need someone to share our inner world with, especially during transitions – the good, the bad, and the in-between. Not only can we explore tools to use when you are feeling down, but also ways to cherish the positives of life. We can work together to increase resiliency, self-compassion, and inspiration. I specialize in helping girls and women of all ages discover who they truly are and step into their power. I primarily work with teenagers, college students, young adults, adults, and women entrepreneurs. Additionally, I enjoy working with many different kinds of people who are experiencing life's transitions. I believe every single person can benefit from therapy. We all have wounds that need to be healed and look for a place where we can feel safe speaking about what is on our mind. The therapy room is a safe space for you to talk. A place where you can speak your mind and the focus is on you. I offer a complimentary 15-minute discovery call to see if we are a good fit - text or call me at (310) 694-0617.

Donna J. Shanahan, MA

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Pasadena, CA 91101

I am a Marriage and Family therapist in private practice. I work with individuals, couples, and families in short and long-term psychotherapy. We work together to explore memories of the relational dynamics of the individual’s family, the feelings those dynamics created for the individual as a child, and how the individual now relates to those feelings and memories.
