Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Life course changes begin with taking a single small step. My passion is to help you find and take those steps that will help you fulfill your unique purpose in life. I believe that everyone has within himself/herself what is needed to achieve a balanced, productive, meaningful life. My goal as a psychotherapist is to work with you to uncover what is holding you back, identify ways to set you free of these, and support you to become who you were meant to be. As a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified alcohol and drug counselor, I have helped many people who are struggling with addiction, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and relationship issues. During the process of each person’s journey of self-discovery and transformation, I make skillful use of dialogue (including CBT & DBT), EMDR, Yoga practice, and art therapy.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
