Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I bring with me thirteen years of experience working with individuals in crisis, who often struggle with suicidality, and survivors of suicide. I specialized in grief counseling while in graduate school at John F. Kennedy University. My specific areas of interest are working with homicide and suicide survivors, and individuals and family members facing life threatening illnesses or mental illnesses. I completed a Drug and Alcohol counseling certification from the University of California at Berkeley. I have extensive experience working with diverse populations in terms of ethnicity, age, gender, sexual preference and socioeconomic background. My generous sliding scale allows individuals without insurance and those with HMO limitations to benefit from a therapeutic relationship.
