Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
developing the courage to tell the truth, and by letting go of a good/bad - right/wrong approach to others and understanding that we are each at different movies In my work with couples,I help each partner imrpove their ability to focus on him or herself, because that is where you really have the power to make changes! Couples and Relationship Therapy: I work with couples in crisis, in transition and in need of better intimacy skills. That includes pre-marital, married, and divorcing couples. My "bi-focal" therapeutic approach is both interpersonal and intrapsychic: I assist both partners in expressing feelings, listening to and understanding each other, and responding authentically. I also address relevant underlying individual issues. I also work with single inidivuals seeking to deepen their interpersonal relationships. Eating disorders: For 30 years I have helped many patients overcome Anorexia, Bulimia and Compulsive Eating by directly addressing the underlying emotional/psychological issues, overcoming "diet thinking" (Diets don't work!!), and making permanent lifestyle changes.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
